About
I am a a Clinical Lecturer in Evidence Based Dentistry in Peninsula Dental School, UK. I was previously a research associate in the department of health information at the German Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG), which publishes Germany's national health information website (www.informedhealthonline.org). I graduated as a dentist and worked as a dentist and a lecturer in Evidence Based Medicine and systematic reviews at Shaheed Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in Tehran, Iran. I was a member of the executive committee of the dental curriculum reform and educational development office and contributed to curriculum development and other educational and research projects in the Dental School. I was the coordinator of the Cochrane Developing Countries Network from its establishment until my move to Germany. I established and led the Iranian Cochrane informal network and contributed in building an international network of volunteer mentors and mentees (Bahrain, Brazil, Germany, Iran, Jamaica, Singapore, UAE, UK, US) working on systematic reviews in health care (the ViTAMIN project). I still work closely with the Cochrane Collaboration as a member of various Cochrane entities and the RevMan Advisory Group and lead a proposal for a new methods group focusing on priority setting. My publications include 15 Cochrane systematic reviews along with a number of publications in peer reviewed journals focusing on systematic reviews, health policy and the history of medicine. I hold a doctorate in dental surgery and a MSc in Dental Public Health. I am currently an external PhD candidate in the department of community and primary care in the Radboud University, Nijmegen, Netherlands. Besides my work as a health care scientist, I work with the James Lind library initiative to identify principles for testing treatments that have been reflected in passages contained in medieval treatises written in Arabic. I have already published two articles on Ibn Hindu and Ibn Sina in the james lind library which was republished in the Journal of Royal Society of Medicine. I am also a ceritified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and had visited the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune In India. I worked as a freelance graphists and translator and do a astronomy course with the university of central lancashire (UCLAN).
